It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Barry" Dawson at his home in York Point, Cornwall. Following a short illness, Barry passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday July 4, 2011, age 71 years. Beloved husband of Agnes Lillian (nee Phillips). Barry was born in Crapaud on Oct. 15, 1939, son of the late Robert Nelson and Margaret (nee Cameron) Dawson. Loving father to Joline (Derek) Dunn, Charlottetown; Roberta "Bobbie" Dawson, Canberra, Australia; Robert Barry Junior Dawson, Cornwall; Kim (Keir) Clark, Fredericton; Scott (Rosalie) Dawson, Hampton, and Tracey (Tony) Nendarto, Charlottetown. Step-father to Jeffery Getson, Summerside and Christine Getson, Cornwall. Cherished grandfather of Kristen, Cameron, and Marla Clark; Justin, Darren, Logan, Amy, Rebecca, and Matthew Dawson; Jared, Anthony, Amir, and Maya Nendarto. Step-grandfather to Kyle, Alyssa, and Seth Getson. Also survived by mother-in-law Marion (nee Phillips) Darrach, sisters-in-law Carol Dawson and Darlene Dennis,and brothers-in-law Dale (Rena) and Gary (Joyce) Phillips. Nephew of Mary (Bill deceased) Cameron, Maxine (Kay deceased) Cameron, and Hank (Helen deceased) Henderson. Step brother-in-law to Olive (Harold) Darrach and Angus (Judy) Darrach. Predeceased by his brother Ronald "Ronnie" Dawson, father-in-law Alfred Ernest Phillips; step father-in-law Walter Preston Darrach, sister-in-law Gillian (Gary) Phillips, and step sister-in-law, Shirley (Barry) Hamilton. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, for visitation on Wednesday, July 6, 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 9 p.m. following visitation. Funeral service will be held at Cornwall United Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Crapaud People's Cemetery. Memorial donations to Queen Elizabeth Hospital or charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
